I will never judge anyone more than I judge the non-disabled person who uses an elevator to go down a single flight of stairs.

Up one flight as well.

That`s not that bad, when I was on crutches, I judged more harshly those who wouldnt hold doors for me for one goddamned second.

I just like elevators okay

I admit one thing: Some days after I do leg workouts, I have considered this. I've never actually done it, but I've considered it because going up stairs is painful.

At least they're avoiding having to fight with gravity by going up one flight. But going down? There's no excuse there. I figure you can justify using an elevator to go up two floors, but you have to go down 3.

Right now people seem to think I completely incapable of opening doors due to a splint on my right hand.

That's no fun. Granted, when I was on crutches for a week (nasty gash on the back of my left heel. Foot still worked, but the stitches hurt like Hell when I put weight on them) I just manned up and took the stairs.

It's more acceptable, but if you aren't tired or handicapped then one flight of stairs isn't going to kill you.

Personally, I'll go out of the way to find the staircases. I love me some stairs.

Going up,I won't hunt them out, but I'll never turn them down if they're there. Maybe I should put some more work into it, though. I could really stand to loose a hundred lbs or so.

Wow! That is pain I would not want to endure. I was on crutches for a dislocated knee, it was a pretty severe dislocation. It took me a week and a half just to be able to walk 3 paces, crutch free, (with the worlds biggest limp). I found going up stairs a lot easier than coming down them.

Some hotels act like they don't want you to use the stairs...they put you out back in the bowels of the building and not in a public space. Or outside with no way to get back in without walking around the building. No biggie if it's not pissing down rain ....

When I was in college, my 80-year-old trumpet professor had an office on the fifth floor. He took the stairs every day. True story.
